Chelsea have been linked with an incredible move for Barcelona striker and former Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Chelsea have reportedly been ‘considering’ the 33-year-old, despite him joining Barcelona in January from Chelsea’s London rivals.
Manager Thomas Tuchel has history with the Gabonese international, working together at Borussia Dortmund where they won the 2016/17 DFB-Pokal together. Tuchel has also been increasingly vocal about the need for the club to upgrade their current squad, especially in the attacking department.
In recent days, new owner Todd Boehly has secured two new youngsters for the future of the club, with Gabriel Slonina joining from Chicago Fire and Carney Chukwuemeka from Aston Villa. It was reported by Fabrizio Romano that Chelsea have opened talks with Aubameyang, though are yet to submit a bid to the club.
If Aubameyang did sign for the Blues, it’d make him the 30th player to have played for both Arsenal and Chelsea – but how much of an impact would he make at Stamford Bridge? Would his reunion with Tuchel bring the Blues any silverware?
