Barcelona are finding that parting ways with players is harder than it looks. Frenkie de Jong and Sergino Dest both refused to leave the club, and now Martin Braithwaite is doing the same.
Martin Braithwaite will not leave Barcelona unless the club pays him the full amount due for the remaining two years of his contract.
The Danish striker is also on the unwanted list at Barcelona and has agreed to leave, but only on one condition. As reported by Football Espana, Braithwaite has two years left on his contract with Barcelona and is insisting that the club pay out the full amount of his remaining contract before he leaves.
Barcelona are unhappy with the player’s demands but are unable to find a buy yet for him. Offers have come in from Saudi Arabia for the player, but no deal has yet been agreed upon. Barca Universal reports that Braithwaite is considering moving abroad as he seeks to secure a place in the Danish national team for the World Cup. Braithwaite only made 10 appearances for Barcelona in all competitions last season ad risks losing his place at Qatar 2022 if he fails to get more game time.
Barcelona have been very busy in the transfer window and doesn’t appear to be done as yet. Despite being in debt, the Blaugrana have brought in many new faces and are now looking at releasing a few big names to register their new stars.
